How it works
Namespaces separate each rollup’s data; light nodes sample availability; Tendermint-style consensus finalizes quickly. A rollup on Celestia gets Ethereum-independent scaling with light-client verifiability intact.
Why it matters for decentralization
It unbundles the blockchain: execution anywhere, availability guaranteed by a purpose-built decentralized network — real competition for Ethereum’s DA monopoly. The audit question moves with it: Celestia’s validator set and sampling honesty become load-bearing for every chain built on top.
