Who we are
Web3 Decentralization (“W3D”, “we”, “us”) is an independent, open-source educational project. This policy explains what data we collect when you use web3decentralization.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Analytics data. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic (pages viewed, approximate region, device and referrer). This data is not used to identify you personally.
- Account data. If you create a student account or enrol in a course, LifterLMS stores the name, email address and password hash you provide, along with your course progress.
- Comments and form submissions. If you leave a comment or submit a form, we store the information you enter, including your IP address and browser user agent, to prevent spam.
- Cookies. We use functional cookies required to keep you logged in and to remember preferences, and analytics cookies set by Google Analytics.
How we use it
We use this information only to operate and improve the site, deliver courses and certificates, prevent abuse, and measure which educational content is useful. We do not sell your personal data.
Legal bases and your rights
Where the GDPR applies, we process analytics data on the basis of legitimate interests and account data on the basis of your consent or contract. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us through our About page.
Third parties
- Google Analytics — aggregate traffic measurement.
- Affiliate partners. Some outbound “go” links (for example
/go/binance) redirect to third-party exchanges. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we may earn a commission if you sign up. See our Terms of Service for the affiliate disclosure. - Hosting and CDN — our hosting provider processes request data to serve the site securely.
Retention
Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics defaults. Account data is retained while your account is active and deleted on request. Comments and spam-prevention records are retained as long as needed to moderate the site.
Children
The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Open source
Our educational content is released under MIT and CC-BY-4.0 licences. This policy covers the website and not the licensed content itself.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the date below.
