Circulating supply is the number of tokens currently tradable on the open market — excluding locked team tokens, unvested allocations, and unreleased treasury. Market cap uses this number; fully-diluted value uses the total that will ever exist.

Why it matters

Low circulating supply with a huge locked overhang is the classic setup for “high FDV, low float” dumps: price looks supported until unlocks flood the market. Always compare circulating vs total supply — the gap is future selling waiting for a date.
