Phishing is the most common way crypto gets stolen without any blockchain hack: a fake website, email, or DM that looks like the real service, tricking you into entering your seed phrase or approving a malicious contract. The attacker then drains your wallet.

Why it matters

In crypto, one mistake = permanent loss — no bank dispute, no undo. The anti-phishing habits matter more than any technology: check the exact domain, never type your seed phrase anywhere, never connect your wallet to a site you didn’t verify, and move slowly when money moves.
