The floor price is the cheapest listed item in an NFT collection — the headline number quoted as “the collection is worth X.” It moves with the cheapest seller’s mood, not with any fundamental, and thin collections swing violently on single sales.

Why it matters

Floors are sentiment gauges, not valuations: wash trading inflates them, panic listings crater them, and most holders couldn’t all exit anywhere near the floor (try selling 100 items into 3 bids). Never mistake the lowest ask for what your NFT is “worth” — worth is the best real bid, and usually lower.
