DApp

A decentralized application — a front-end you can use, backed by smart contracts instead of a company database.

A DApp (decentralized application) pairs a normal user interface with smart contracts running on a blockchain. From the user’s view it feels like an app; underneath, trades, balances, and rules live on-chain — verifiable by anyone.

Why DApps matter

Because the backend is public code, DApps can’t quietly change the rules, delete your account, or run off with diluted funds. Users interact through a wallet, which signs each transaction explicitly.

From wallets to games

DApps include decentralized exchanges, lending protocols, prediction markets, NFT marketplaces, and on-chain games. Their quality and adoption signal how useful a chain’s developer ecosystem really is.
